Energy

This guy comes across as a bit too eager. His predictions are a bit too aggressive. Still, if this is real, it’s a game changer.

I hope it’s true.

Wow! Solar energy hasn’t even really caught on world wide yet and it’s already evolved. If technology can create solar energy through standard glass today, perhaps technology will produce solar energy through smoke screens tomorrow. The world cannot keep up with the ever-changing technology.

I’m not crazy about adams colliding together but I suppose this is a breakthrough. What I don’t understand is if they can harness energy from the Sun, why not perfect it? It’s clean and doesn’t harm the climate.

Everyone wants fusion. There have been a lot of false starts. I don’t know how real it is. I’m pretty sure I won’t live to see it.

“This will not contribute meaningfully to climate abatement in the next 20-30 years,” Friedmann said. “This the difference between lighting a match and building a gas turbine.”

What is false starts to one is always trial and error to another. Everything is moving faster. We don’t really know what we are going to see.

Geez! I did not know this. I guess we’re going to have to learn to live under surveillance.

They’ve got it to the point where it could heat five hot baths. Not much but it’s vastly more than they had before. It might just proceed to usable levels in my lifetime.

I am into infrastructure. It’s something the west has done better than the rest of the world, although Japan is strong and China is catching up.

EDIT: This story covers some other details. Cuba is in a mess.

“The suggestion that BlackRock has invested money in companies with the goal of harming those companies is baseless and defies common sense. This lawsuit undermines Texas’ pro-business reputation and discourages investments in the companies consumers rely on.”

Free energy! That would be sweet. My electric bill costs me more than all my other bills combined.

That might not be unusual in your climate. I think by the end of the year, my gas/electric is probably 40/60, but it might be 50/50. Car insurance is probably the same as those two.

My order goes…

Mortgage
Property taxes
Groceries
:fuelpump:
Then, everything is tied.

Once I get a different car, it should change.

That’s not unusual in any climate.

That’s different. Add water and your other utilities would be more expensive than electric.

If you consider the value of what we are getting vs what we pay, taxes win, hands down.

Pardon my skepticism but with a new car you are going to have a new and, likely, higher payment.

That is 100% correct. Not only would my car payments going up from the monthly payment of $0/month, but my incredibly low car insurance will go up.

I may get a used car. I have a feelimg that I will never have a nice car.

I have had many nice cars in my life. It is the most unfulfilling use of money I know of. They don’t bring joy, they bring stress. Financial stress, of course, but also driving stress as other drivers try to compete with you. They bring parking stress as you worry about the car beside you dinging you. They even bring stress because every little rock chip is now a big deal, whereas on a used car, you don’t care.

I honestly can’t see a single case where a nice new car results in a normal person being happier than they would have been with a decent used car. Insecure weirdos who obsess over what they look like to others might be, but they’re messed up.

I never could afford a new car. A new car for me just would mean less risk my car will have a damage, lower taxes, lower insurance and lower costs for energy. More security probably too. More electric fancy stuff I neither need nor ever try out or even get aware such functions exists, as well, lol.
