What a great idea. Democrats can then complain about the skyrocketing food prices.

The minimum wage in BC is $17.85 per hour. Life is good here. Everyone eats.

How about $18 an hour for minimum wage?

5 poor looking Natives are in the parking lot of Easy Credit on Dingwall St. 4 ppl on York St by closed for 4 months diner were moved on by White Paladin Security guard a couple hours ago. Saw a guy sleeping at the Nature Conservation Area when I walked this morning 2 hours today. A new to me route. Picked up 2 bags of litter. Several ppl as usual in the Sorreonos Ecological Reserve in tents. Saw 3 brown rabbits. Not seen one beggar and only one panhandler since I have been here. Yes I support the minimum wage and welfare rate. I know of 5 companies hiring within 5 minute walk of where I live.

It would take 5 years to become law. 12 years for small businesses. I think $25 is fine. Anything less in 2038 will be poverty.

NH is still $7.25. I made $8/hr at Bob’s Stores in 1998.

My first job paid $6 an hour my last job paid $17. My sibling one of his first jobs was making frozen pizza crusts he is now the head Lower Mainland salesman for Restwell Mattresses been there over 25 years.

M first 3 jobs were in restaurants. I made $2.10 an hour. 6 months into my first job, Congress passed the law to tax tips.

My first job was at an apple orchid. Then I went to dunkin donuts. It was much easier than the orchard. Pre puberty is a bit young to keep up on an orchard.

Why were you working at such a young age?

I was 14. I was 5’2, 103 lbs. A little light for that work. I’ve had a job since. 32 years. Lucky that way, I guess.

It wasn’t uncommon to work at 14 years old, 32 years ago. Probably should have started at Dunkin. I think I thought my job was going to be picking apples. It was mostly making cider with lots of heavy lifting. I literally weighed half the body weight of everyone else making cider. They were also Jamaican and had been working on orchards for years.

I always seriously underreported my tips as a bartender. Only met one person in my bar career who reported all her tips she said she did it to help her with her CPP upon retirement.

No doubt.

I don’t know how you got away with that if your tips were reported according to what was on your tickets.

If Platner wins and he is well ahead, that will take of the last remaining republican senator in New England.

Pennsylvania would have the closest republican senator.

This was in the days when people paid with cash.

My tips were in cash. One place did not take credit cards and the other two places did not get much credit card business. Never made more than $74 but once went 6 weeks without cashing my paycheque did not realize I had not cashed it. Rent was only $290 a month then.
