Democrats

You’re speaking of the convenience of lifting that burden to pay at the drs office. That burden is still there. To me, paying $0 mean it doesn’t come from my pocket or my account.

Not exactly true. They profit from the drugs they sell. A conflict of interest because they are incentivized to sell expensive drugs that treat but don’t cure anything.

There’s nothing wrong with doctors having money. You have money and that’s okay, isn’t it?

Not in Canada. Doctors get $0 from pharma here.

That’s not exactly true either. They receive substantial payments from pharma companies for consulting, speaking, research, and trials, creating potential conflicts of interest influencing care.

It is true that they CAN receive such money. Almost none do. I was in medical software for years, including billing software. I know this to be true for a fact (every cent of such money must be fully disclosed).

It’s great if that’s true. It’s not that way here.

It is easy for poor ppl to say that people who spent 8 years getting an education to learn a profession should not be rich. Drs in BC get a base $370k a year salary with specialists earning more. Our province has a shortage of Drs as does every province and scarcity of something in demand leads to higher prices or in this case wages. Various Dr’s have quit the profession in the last few years in BC claiming burnout and long hours.

I don’t know where you read that but it isn’t true. I’ve googled and asked AI if there’s any truth to that and all say no.

ChatGPT: Public-system contract rates (BC Physician Master Agreement) for general practice range roughly $226 k–$327 k (2023-24) for full scope GPs, not $370 k. Some specialists (e.g., critical care) average around $345 k–$355 k.

And those numbers are in CAD. Call it $150-225k/year USD. Our doctors are not rich, nor should they be.

lol. I grow to like this Newsom guy.

Wow. 21 point swing. I like them both, but Talarico is my favorite politician.

Talarico as President is the best chance the USA has of becoming whole again.

I think she is going to lose her congressional seat, due to the forced gerrymandering. She really should run for congress in another district and drop out. She’s lost 21 points. 15% are undecided. Those won’t go to her. She’s not really a candidate that people are wishy washy on. Looks like the Republicans will win the general anyways lol.

Another close primary race.
