Coronavirus

And we got results back at 1 AM. They have the ability to test 1000 tests per day, but they won’t get that much reagent.

Sounds like things are improving.

Yes. I suppose so.

Trump is in trouble for calling it a Chinese virus. I hate to tell people but it is a Chinese virus. He’s a bit of a tool for rubbing that in but the phrase is entirely accurate.

I see that too. Trump supporters seem upset with it. This is what upset them?

I guess China’s emissions have gone way down the last month. According to nasa.

Did he ask al Jazeera, politico, and wuhan news to leave?

I think he just pointed to one reporter he particularly hates and said “you can go”.

There is Intel it is possibly a Canadian virus, made in a Canadian lab, which left that lab in Canada when it terminated a few Chinese scientists.

Somehow it finally got to a lab near Wuhan where the market was used a cover for its release.

Or maybe it was just a casual massage and food brought to work or after work food buying by lab persons.

It might be the Italian virus now as Italy has the highest death count, even surpassing China.

It has a lot to do with demographics.

The CDC writes:

COVID-19 is caused by a coronavirus. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats. Rarely, animal coronaviruses can infect people and then spread between people such as with MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, and now with this new virus (named SARS-CoV-2).

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is a betacoronavirus, like MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV. All three of these viruses have their origins in bats. The sequences from U.S. patients are similar to the one that China initially posted, suggesting a likely single, recent emergence of this virus from an animal reservoir.

Ok, so the virus SARS-CoV-2 likely has its origins in bats, and likely came from a single animal reservoir. Wuhan is the epicenter of the first wave of the virus, and is the city where the now-pandemic broke out. There was a large market in Wuhan selling bat meat. Maybe all that is a coincidence but I’m really not thinking so. Conspiracy theories aside, this thing started in Wuhan from weirdos killing, selling and eating bats.

Wasn’t the source of Ebola people eating “bush meat” including dead monkeys found on the ground? Not sure.

From the CDC:

African fruit bats are likely involved in the spread of Ebola virus and may even be the source animal (reservoir host). Scientists continue to search for conclusive evidence of the bat’s role in transmission of Ebola. 1 The most recent Ebola virus to be detected, Bombali virus, was identified in samples from bats collected in Sierra Leone.

We should genocide bats. And perhaps people who eat them.
