Coronavirus

Actually, thinking more about it, if your boycott only went as far as the brand and not every component inside, you could probably stick to Korean tech.

I figured samsung was Japanese but never had to pay attention before.

Ah it is korean. Although i guess a lot make my mistake.

My car is korean, which I don’t mind.

My refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, tv, phone and tablet are all samsung. My washing machine is LG.

But you are tight. Sanctions are the best method. Hopefully Trump and company do that here.

This will pretty much remove any ā€œamericanā€ manufacturers. So it’s the koreans, Japanese and VW.

lol usa is by far the biggest importer of chinese products

agreed (besides the screwing because that would probably lead to more viruses), good luck convincing all governments about that even after 100 of these outbreaks; money always speaks louder

It definitely is. We need to start making our own useless shit.

Truth, but this is a rare case where Trump might be the right guy for the problem. He has no problem sanctioning the Chinese.

lol i dont think so, even trump sucks up to his pal xi

ah nice, thank you germany!

dutch news just reported that 2 dutch corona patients were moved to a hospital just across the border in germany because they had more beds free there

The germans should adopt what you are doing. You will probably peak like crazy and infect them. They might as well get the same benefit since you will be overloading them soon.

They must be really sick. Interesting that they could even be transported.

yes, no further info was given… maybe they only were tested positive with minimal issues that the germans want to investigate?

Oh. Maybe. They are smart.

hmm those 2 were transported 140km! from a hospital in zwollen to munster

ā€œThe patients have not been moved because the hospital in Zwolle no longer had beds available, but because the hospital expects a peak and already wants to free up space in the intensive care unit, the Ministry of Health says.ā€

weird they must expect a huge peak, plenty of surrounding hospitals available

Samsung and LG are Korean. Kia and Hyundai, too. Sony, Panasonic, Fuji, Nikon, Canon are all Japanese, as are the various car makers we all know about.

Google tends to make its hardware in China and I had planned to switch to mostly Pixel hardware when I got to Canada (which itself is now totally uncertain, at least in terms of when that will be possible).

I buy lots of little things made in China, though. The little digital clock/thermometer on my desk, and the little USB fan, and the bluetooth speaker by my Chromebook and the little bluetooth earbud I use to listen to audiobooks when I go for walks. Those aren’t big items individually but collectively they’re a big deal to me.

will you sell these or throw them away or hang them up on your wall to shame them?

None of the above. Dan is boycotting. I’m not. I support sanctions, however.
