An oddly playful version of Oh Holy Night. Not my favourite, but I like it enough to post it here.
Time off work, resting, cooking/baking for the family. I love that my inlaws celebrate on Christmas Eve, no fighting the in laws and parents for this particular holiday.
Christmas morninga with hubby and kids, afternoon, usually my parents stop by or we go visit them to exchange gifts.. Spending time with all family without any drama (usually).

Are they Latino? Or otherwise Catholic? Christmas Eve is the big day for Catholics, too.
Today is quiet for us, which suits me fine.

Interesting. Wasn’t it the Catholic Church that set the 25th as the day to celebrate the birth of Christ? Why do they celebrate it on the evening before?
The drama from my in laws, drama from my sister. Found out my uncle died shortly before Christmas. My birth father killed himself one year before thanksgiving and his mother blames me for his susicide.
I grew up in a log cabin in the woods on 5 or 6 acres. The house we bought is on a quarter acre lot. I miss having a huge house to decorate. I miss sending and receiving Christmas cards.
One year we had a 14’ tree that you could see out the 2nd story window as you drove up to the house.
Oh my! There is a lot of drama for you in the holidays but it sounds like you’ve had pleasant memories of past Christmases. Perhaps you should gift your drama in-laws a bottle of Crown for Christmas. If they reject your gift, merry Christmas to you lol.
Nope. It was a choice my parents in law made so we celebrate with extended family the night before, then the morningof, is for our immediate family (spouse and kids).
