I won’t watch that movie but I never watch movies. I actually watched Hikaru stream a few times and thought, “omg how can anyone watch this extremely irritating man?” It’s actually funny because you hear a name like Hikaru Nakamura and you think of some dignified, elegant, well-dressed, super-polite Japanese guy who bows and doesn’t say much and who follows ancient traditions and rituals. Then you watch him and you think, “ew, gross, stop talking, ew, shut up already.”

Another win for Sindarov. Caruana now 1.5 pts behind.

His tactic of practically winning all the matches was a great idea.

and now anish giri beat fabiano too! lol
sindarov is pretty much unstoppable now

Giri is the only one with a chance to catch him. He is 1.5 pts behind. In rd 13, Giri has white against Sindarov. If he can win that, I guess he’ll have a chance. He just beat Caruana with black. Impressive

The Netherlands would get their second world champion. Not many countries can say that. I would think Russia and Germany are the only ones, but it might just be Russia.

I just looked. Steinitz was Austrian. Lasker is the only German. So, Russia is the only country with more than 1. They just happen to have like 8.

I didn’t realize there were even matches today. Sindarov won and set the record for most matches won at a single candidates. 8/10. He might be slightly less boring than Ding. At least he is willing to give interviews, although he is not easy to understand. He’s probably the same age as Gukesh.

4 matches to go. Giri needs to probably win them all and hope for a collapse.

I don’t care for Giri but he’s more interesting than Sindarov.

because he is a fellow dutchie! (with russian and indo-nepalese roots)
