Cars

Dear God. That car is not discreet.

So far it’s a light show.

Right, no function but lots of form.

A lamp you can sit inside of?

Here is another good electric car story. Funding seemed to be a problem. Oh that and 6.6 billion in debt.

I saw this car the other day. Makes me wish I was born yesterday.

From your commentary I was assuming you were.

Oh, I’m so sorry. I failed to write a book in your honor. Lord knows that must be having a negative impact on your pride.

I haven’t noticed any impact.

Pity. After reflecting, I can see it was very half-hearted attempt at small talk. I can do so much better.

I’ve yet to see it.

Squint.

It seems there is no longer a reliable car. Toyota. Probably the best car company.

I will say if I bought a Toyota it would be a sedan. Their rav4 is good and the highlander is really good. I think most of the manufacturers make decent SUVs except general motors. I’d buy an american truck over toyota based on price. For a sedan though, at this point I’d probably only buy a Toyota or Honda. Especially since they are practically the only companies that will continue to make petrol sedans in the future. It’s just not a good recall since most of the manufacturers are making electric cars and toyota has no interest.

I’d still call Toyota reliable despite their troubles of late. They have amazing owner satisfaction from their cheapest cars up to their $100k+ Lexus models.

Toyota is going to make their land cruiser a hybrid. I guess they get horrible gas mileage. I think they are one of the uglier vehicles out there. Maybe, the ugliest.

Angie is on her second Camry. Both have been reliable cars. There was a widespread problem with the a/c on the second one which should have been a factory recall. My mechanic fixed it.

I’ve never owned a Toyota but I’d buy one in a second if I needed and liked one. Their electric strategy might be sensible imo. Effectively they’re saying ā€œlet others sort out the tech a bit more and then we’ll jump inā€. Everyone else is going to buy battery tech from whoever innovates, and the charging standard is still being sorted out, so I’m not sure they’re at a disadvantage outside of Oslo and a few other super-early adopter cities.

I want this one.

Toyota is obviously saving their money by pretending hybrids are better. They are also keeping their eyes on Trump and his tariffs on cars and parts by investing in production in the US.

ā€œToyota is investing in the U.S. almost $13 billion over a five-year period, ending in 2021. This includes a new $750 million outlay across several plants, the most noteworthy being for retooling a factory in Kentucky to build gas-electric versions of the top-selling RAV4 crossover and Lexus ES sedan.ā€

I personally would never own a Toyota. They don’t have even one vehicle that attracts me to their long line of fuel efficient cars.
