What an
oh, sorry. Nice car.
See mine? ![]()
I actually like your car, Michele, but Iām 54 and never haul people anymore. I want something small and fun, and ideally short enough that I could fit a motorcycle behind it in my parking spot. Maybe a 370Z. Iāve lusted after Z-Cars since I was 12 years old and they were still called Datsun.
Either way, I wonāt buy anything until weāve figured out where weāre going to live most of the year. Current thinking is Sabaneta or Cartagena in winter and Vancouver in the other months, which would justify a car in Vancouver.
It is a pretty car, Reg. A perfect fit for you. I noticed it was a V6. Not a dog getting on the freeway but not so much power you canāt control it. Thatās always a plus, right. I can see you styling around the city in this little hot rod.
Yippeeeee!!! Iām glad itās not my car. Too cramped for my style. I have always preferred a little leg room. And where would you put your baggage? That shirt pocket you call a trunk?
Thatās actually a very valid concern. I almost never carry anything but this trunk is so small it would barely handle the groceries for two people. lol. It would certainly force us to pack light for road trips.
Thank you. Iām learning how to ignore my invalid concerns.
No kidding. That trunk doesnāt look big enough to hold anything more than an overnight bag and a snack tray. Which would be great if you were taking a Sunday drive around Paris.
Thatās my point. I donāt think this car was built for road trips. This car was built for speed. To get from point A to point B with the least amount of inconvenience. To maneuver through traffic jams without getting trapped in a standstill. Itās built for hugging curves at high speeds. As pretty as it is, you couldnāt pay me to drive one but it definitely fits you.
This thing isnāt built only for speed even though it does have 332 horsepower. I drive at (or slightly above) the speed limit, generally, so speed is totally wasted on me. I think I could fit two small backpacks and two small purse-size bags in the trunk (one of each for the two of us). I would use it to get around town and do weekend trips, which I think would be fine. It wouldnāt be good for any long road trips but Iām not sure I want to do any more of those. Itās just so much nicer to fly.
Awww, youāre such a climate changer.
Air travel isnāt worse than car travel from what I can see. If you put 5 people in a Honda Civic, itās more efficient per person to travel by car, but 2 people in a Nissan 370z is less efficient.
You donāt buy a sports car for luggage space.
I liked the old British sports cars.
I loved old MGs and Triumphs but they died out before I could afford to buy anything other than cheap ancient cars. They were also notoriously unreliable. As impractical as this Nissan is, itāll go pretty much anywhere you want to take it.
I agree. Nissan was better when it was Datsun. Nissan transmissions have really gone down the shitter.
It wonāt go mudding. Hahaha! Of course I doubt thatās a problem if you donāt take it on a dirt road. Now that I think of it, Vancouver is so pristine, there probably arenāt any dirt roads.
Vancouver is pristine, but there are junkies everywhere which is nasty.
Sorry to hear that but it doesnāt really affect you, does it? Donāt you live three floors above it all?
I stopped at McDonalds for a hot chocolate the other night and there were junkies there. Nasty.
Also I saw these 3 foot long avocados on Instagram. I assume they are transported in cars so letās pretend itās on topic.
I bet MIchele would like one of those.
oh, Brother!!!
(((MOM))) Reg is posting our twinzie picture again!
Honda is making a steering wheel that you can accelerate or break with. As well as turn the car on with. Maybe they want to get rid of pedals, if you are too lazy or injured to use your foot.
