Cid was a serial (and totally failed) entrepreneur. Even to call him an entrepreneur, while technically true, is overly flattering, despite his thumping his chest about what a great businessman he was. He tried a bunch of get-rich-quick schemes, including selling sex pheromones intended to make you irresistibly attractive to women, and some grill absurdity which produced greasy, disgusting-looking unhealthy chicken, as bad as what Mark posts. His websites were sleazy, amateurish and juvenile, as were his politics. He made a video to sell his chicken grill that I saw, which was the first time I ever heard him (I never saw him). His accent was the strongest southern US accent I had ever heard, to the point where I truly couldnât understand much of what he said. May he rest in peace, after a suitable period of suffering to punish him for his evil opinions.

Canada Day was beautiful this year. Thousands of people, but they were remarkably polite, courteous and clean. There was almost no litter downtown, despite the huge crowds enjoying the day. It felt particularly meaningful to me this year, with the irritating orange child down south screaming for attention. He didnât come up in conversation today. We know who we are, and we love this country, but we feel no need to be loud about it.
