Canada

lol.

Canada has universal health care. Nobody has ever heard the word copay up here, and nobody worries if they have health care. Nobody worries about doctor bills because we don’t have those here. We all have better health care than anyone in the US (despite Republican lies about our waiting lists). We don’t have to shop for it. We just have it.

Canada has universal welfare. We have almost no desperation. If people lose everything financially, they are still not homeless. We find them (and pay for) a place for them. Not a nice place, but a decent place. A place they can rebuild from. We also give them food money and help them find jobs.

Despite this spending, our debt and deficits are far lower than the US. This is because we fairly tax our rich, and guess what? None of them leave. They stay because this is an amazing place to live. Now and then, one of them will move, to which we say, “don’t let the door hit you in the etc. etc.”. They are replaceable. And taxable. Most of them move back, anyway, once they get a taste of life in Florida.

The average person in Canada is safer, happier and far more hopeful about the future (73% vs 56%). Our cities are amazingly safe, clean and beautiful, and what homelessness we have (far less than the US) is all drug-related and mental-health-related, not poverty related.

So no, Michele, you are not Canada 2.0. We are not perfect, not by a long stretch, but you have a lot of catching up to do, and I doubt you’ll do any of that in this new Golden Showers Age the US is going through.

PS: Our weather is horrible. I admit this.

Yes, but Canada wants everyone to die asap.

Rat free would be nice enough. Are they placed in a rat free environment?

Ewww…sloppy seconds. I’m surprised pristine Canada would let them cross the border.

I don’t doubt what you’re saying is factual. Trump indicates we will have peace and safety at least these next few years, or until Trump is assassinated.

Yeah, ice and lots of snow, I guess. We’ve been in a drought here for months, but I guess someone prayed so we got five and a half and then one inch of rain 2 days later. I am grateful. The ground is so hard farmers haven’t been able to sow winter wheat.

Homelessness is on the rise here (still not comparable with the USA of course). It‘s sad we don‘t offer enough social help (and pressure) for homeless drug addicts and the mental ill. Also the food banks for the poor (and mainly not homeless) are a shame for my country that they are needed and run only by volunteers, who often don‘t even belong to the middle class but below.

I also think the long year drug addict and mentally ill homeless people should be compelled to get treatment. Both are sick, vulnerable, spreading sexual diseases, often enough get pregnant, end up in the red light area and can‘t decide for themselves anymore.

The needed money could be easily collected by finally financially burdening the rich as much as the employed (which btw. is way too much anyway) and by not paying welfare to people who are able to work but don‘t because our state pays them welfare.

Maybe I should read this article again because I have yet to determine if Trump and Trudeau had their meeting over dinner.

Is that important?

Is what important?

Whether they had their meeting over dinner.

No, not really. As long as they meet.

Well, I had to read several articles but I finally found one with a picture, indicating they did meet over dinner. There are no articles published about that meeting that I could find.
Photo at the end of article.

Just as Germany is in turmoil, so too is Canada.

Yeah, stick to Canada.

Too bad but who wants to be demoted.

I don’t blame her. Trudeau’s time appears to be coming to an end.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s government may collapse by the end of the night, and President Trump’s threatened tariff if Canada can’t secure the U.S./Canada border will be the top culprit. If Trudeau goes down, it will lead to elections where the conservatives are overwhelmingly favored to win.

MAGA doesn’t just make America better. Everyone is better off when America stops being a doormat for the world.

It’s a mess here, true. Not as much of a mess as the US but we have our problems.

Trudeau is unpopular and may not survive. I hope he does but I admit he may fall any day now. If he does, we will have Conservatives, likely for a decade. That tends to be our cycle.

Perhaps you will get someone with stronger ethics to replace him. Regardless, your nation will survive and someone will come along and clean up the mess he has made.

Apparently, he lived to see another day. I have to ask…why did you post an image of Charlie Kirk?

I simply copied Charlie Kirk’s post from Truth Social and it pasted the picture big like that. Do you not like Charlie?

He looks like a MAGA wanker, just like the rest of the right.

Paul Watson was freed!
