Look at the video I posted here and the barrel/buoy being held over the side at the front of the ship at the point of impact. Notice how many feet the bow is crushed in its “crumple zone” of that is even it’s design and the red ocean spray.
Also it’s a destroyer. It’s a larger vessel but not that much larger and mostly just length.
Poor seamanship. Good thing there was good structural integrity and hull strength.

I think the coast guard was ready to take the chance the destroyer would use its cannons after such a shaming. I’m sure that captain that ordered full speed ahead with that galing hole considered chasing the smaller patrol boat. That really would grounds for an international court
It’s escalating after Chinese jets intercept Philippines aircraft over the same area. Keep mind the Philippines uses old aircraft . By old I mean propeller aircraft like the Corsair from WWII.
They have been getting new stock and have new military equipment on order.

Now 2 US warships are headed towards the region. Philippines is a key strategic point for the United States and those waters are also a shipping route.
This new is from WION. India has clashed with China several times near its border in land based conflicts and forces, showing it’s willing to fight and resist China on its own. Phillipines is also showing the same courage against the bully, but more enduring the abuse against the great impotent.
China can’t even sustain its own infrastructure. It wants to divert attention away from that at the cost of Iver half their population.
