no it’s not enough
they need to burn them to the ground
I’m not against them burning it all to the ground. They should finish what they started and then we can rebuild the city from a blank canvas and make Canada pay for it.
Your post of 8 months ago suddenly popped into my head tonight and I edited it and went back to calling it wall. I appear to have too much time on my hands these days.
it appears you also had too much time 8 months ago
True. It’s good not to be too busy all the time.
I doubt anyone will agree with me on this but I am just not seeing a murderer here. She made a mistake and cost an innocent man his life. I’m not saying she’s right to have done that but she’s not a murderer. She should get the same penalty as someone who killed someone making a driving mistake.
Pretty big mistake
True. She needs to be punished. I’m just not seeing a murderer there. Again, whatever penalty is given for criminal negligence causing death seems right to me.
2nd degree manslaughter. That sounds right.
and again
The kid had a handgun in his hands and ran. He ignored several demands to stop “right fucking now”. I’m sorry for the family but I would’ve shot the kid, too. This is why we need body cameras, both to protect victims and to protect the cops when they are in the right. The family is making a big deal out of the fact that for the last second of his life, the kid didn’t have a gun in his hands. Well, for 59 of the last 60, he did. He walked that walk. He died the death that comes with that.
What should the punishment be? It should be something you two can agree on no matter what.
I don’t really know. Maybe don’t let her own guns anymore, fine her heavily and make her do community service. Perhaps a short jail sentence.
So strange. Why would you want to see her get a jail sentence when you don’t even believe in jail as a form of punishment? Is it because she’s a woman? Should only men be free from jail sentences?
Because it’s all we have. What would be better is if we had a comprehensive set of punitive measures which didn’t involve jail (cleaning streets and so on) and we could sentence her to some of that. We don’t have those systems so all we can do is fine people and jail them. That’s pretty much it.
Again, you have never taken that position when discussing punishment of male criminals. Interesting that you have changed your mind.
You’re into rebuilding but this woman should be punished with a short jail sentence?
You seem to have a problem with women.
Michele, kindly refrain from lunacy. I am not proposing this woman be treated any differently from men. I would give her the exact same non-jail penalty that a male would get if I had the power. I don’t have that power, so I would instead sentence her to the exact same jail term that a male would get.
Why, have you applied for the patent?
On the BLM topic, it irritates me that everyone is fully expecting black violence if the Chauvin verdict comes in as not guilty. That’s as big a problem as police violence, the fact that we just accept and excuse black violence in response.
