Bible and qu'ran

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth.

In other news, the pope called Jesus’ death on the Cross a failure. I can confidently assume I’ve made your day.

Untrue.

It is a Living Bible, Eternal and dwelling within the believer, meaning it cannot be destroyed with fire, water or any environment element. The look one would receive would be a look of disbelief at their ignorance and vein works.

Agreed. Nobody will do anything if you burn a Bible. They’ll think (and possibly say) that you’re an idiot, but they’ll leave you alone.

That’s not true, Nico. We leave them alone because their attitude isn’t worth the effort.

There’s no need to be insulting, Michele.

lol

Insulting? How was I being insulting? I was just stating a fact. There’s no point in trying to reason with someone who is burning Bibles. They clearly do not want to face or deal with its content.

I was kidding.

I said you were insulting me because you (presumably accidentally) called me Nico.

Where did I do that?

Here.

Oh, that wasn’t an accident. I was talking to Nico and making a point using your words about why a person like myself would just let that go.

really? lol in that case let me make a counter point:
if your god directly ordered you to kill everyone that burns bibles, would you do it or disobey?

A good question, actually. God has commanded his people to kill many times.

God doesn’t tell me to let it go. That’s my choice. That’s the beauty of salvation. His yoke is easy and burden is light. If God gives me the choice to battle an unbeliever, what makes you think he commands me to kill an unbeliever? Isn’t that contrary to His command to love our neighbor as ourselves?

That is a picture of a spiritual walk in the new covenant.

nice avoidance, i will take that as a yes you would gladly kill all the non believers when told to do so (and you wouldnt break your commandment either because its not murder but killing / helping people to go to the afterlife!)

yes everyone has the choice to obey or suffer for eternity!
i dont think thats beautiful or light and easy at all; i find it quite immoral, ugly and manipulative

yes and no… i dont think your god exists (outside the minds of the delusional) but since your bible is filled with lots of contrary nonsense it probably makes perfect sense to most believers

thats a good example: some people enjoy slowly killing themselves; by smoking, not exercising, drugs etc etc… so if you kill your neighbours slowly, you would be loving your neighbour as yourself and doing your gods work…

OK in fairness, I would say no I wouldn’t because I don’t believe that would be from God. Also, I don’t believe there is a such thing as non-believers. I believe there are people who lie about what they believe. And lastly, there is a righteous killing under the law for things, such as cold blooded murder.

My turn…
Do you believe it’s OK to kill? Why or why not?

Good point I had never thought of that so technically everyone in America should be dead and the Netherlands should be ruling the world yet, they don’t. Why not?

yes and no, iam a pacifist and believe all life is precious but at the same time i realise that humans are parasites and need to kill other creatures in order to survive

we did rule the world and then we grew up and renounced religion

How do you know we are parasites? And why do we need to kill to survive, beyond the obvious need for food?

Reminds me of the parable about the two boys who grew up and wanted their father to give them a portion of inheritance, which he did. One squandered his on a fast lifestyle while the other stayed with his dad and tended his business. Are you familiar with the parable I’m referring to?
