We haven’t had a significant update since 2018, six years ago. We’ve been quiet since Will died. Google Ads get me nothing. I’m not ready to give up yet. Here is my thinking.

I’m quite active in the local ham radio community and that community is full of lunatics with political opinions. I’m going to try to get some of them to come to BBAD. I am currently working on a site to help people get their Advanced Certification and that’s getting a lot of hits. I’ll be including a prominent link to BBAD when it’s done. I’m also thinking of creating a ham radio category and promote that in the community, but it might be better to make a new forum for that. I’m planning to upgrade the server in April of 2024. This is long overdue but it has been working fine so I haven’t felt any pressure on it. Still, we’re on a 6 year old version of Ubuntu and updates stopped a few months ago so it’s time for me to bite the bullet and do it.
I realize this means one of two outcomes.

My effort to promote BBAD totally fails and we remain quiet.
Let’s see how it goes. I’ve stuck these things in my calendar. January will probably be quiet. Hopefully February will be better when the efforts start.

I got a notice from Digital Ocean that the Fediverse server is having issues. I had forgotten it existed. After four years, I think it’s safe to pronounce the Fediverse a failure. I intend to take down the Fediverse server later tonight. I will update this thread when it’s down.
