I think sex changes should be legal, but Greg brings up a good point about insurance. If it is not covered it will not happen, since nobody can afford it. I’d imagine most of the surgeons are urologists, so they wouldn’t be out of business, but I think I agree that it probably should not be covered by insurance. Where do you stop what should be covered? Should breast implants be covered?
Sex changes are expensive and there is also the price of hormone treatment.

This reminds me on a former Green Party member and former member of the Bundestag, who is a Trans and who now considers Trans to be mentally ill (contrary to prior times).
PS: I personally don’t know the reasons why someone is Trans. Therefore I always would go with the actual medical science which currently deny it’s a mental illness.
