Russia threatens the US with nuclear war in Europe. Russia does not threaten the US directly. Russia threatens attacking US European “ally” countries to threaten the US.
European allies “hold back” from commitment as allies and communication.
The Russians are a vile totalitarian dictatorship with no respect for human rights, and nobody should ever look to them for moral guidance, but they are right on this one issue. Likewise in Europe. A conventional and limited nuclear exchange between Russia and NATO counties before American full commitment (not deterrent) puts the USA in better standing as the supreme world power.
Not duking it out with China and/or Russia in defense of these nations first while they sit idly by and watch and then close op and pretend they can’t hear or see, while either China or Russia steps in after the exhaustion.
