I have been hosting for a year with 85 reviews of guests but only two other guests that were trouble. One received a scathing response to a bad review. The other was caught breaking a rule.

ah ok, thats a pretty good record
Here’s my rough draft of my rough draft lol.
This group is a little different.
We have cameras outside so I am able to assist if a guest has problems with the door code.
The amenities I provide are for the comfort and convenience of my guests. This booking was for 6 guests.
Upon arrival, 4 people from a car and 2 from a pickup entered the home. From the footage, it appears two other vehicles pulled in later and there seemed to be movement outside off and on all night.
While I don’t have cameras in the home, it is clear what happened. This group of more than 6 went through all of the empty drawers in the guest rooms. They pulled clothes from the master bedroom dresser and left them out. They drug clothes from closets and left them in other rooms. I offered to let them help themselves to soda and wine for their dinner. The group opened 2 bottles of wine and left one full bottle on the counter using a napkin for a cork. They received a well prepared ribeye dinner and while clean-up is not required they smoked cigarettes on the verandah and left them. Plus, they moved my iPhone charger from the living room to a, yet to be identified, different place. Check out is at 11 but they didn’t leave until around 2 and they failed to lock the doors upon departure.
Not so bad.
The other option is to send this to the Airbnb host blog page and send the other review to them.
This could be a regional English thing but I would say “dragged clothes” instead of “drug clothes”.
I personally wouldn’t mention cameras at all. It doesn’t add to your point that they had a few extra people. Whenever I’m in Toronto, I invite my mother and sister to the hotel. The real offense is what they did inside. Just my opinion, of course, but I would skip the first several sentences and start with “This group of more than 6 went through all of the empty drawers in the guest rooms.”
I think you could say anything you wanted on the host page.
I’ve never had to write a bad review. I am a little more than bothered about it so I really want to make my point without rambling about unimportant things.
Thanks, Reg. I’ll go change those things and look at it again.
Looked like a good draft to me. I would 100% have to write a review if someone did that to my house. And you are helping other Airbnb landlords which is the important thing.
Thanks, Dan. I called Airbnb. They gave me 3 options to consider. I’m still thinking about it.
nobody should be thinkingaboutit longer than me… surely you have made up your mind by now?
I have eliminated option 1, compensation.
good good, as long as you are no longer thinkingaboutit
there can be only 1!
I think everyone here would agree there is only one. Even Reg.
and thank ageofgraces god for that!
No longer thinking. There is only 1, Nico. I am procrastinating because I’m lazy like that.
At the time, I didn’t know how to frame it to reflect disappointment and gratitude without exposing a personal offense to a business decision.
what is lazy to one is being careful and taking your time to another
What is lazy to one is procrastination…
whatever makes you feel good
