It’s not silly at all. The Bible says thou shalt not kill. It doesn’t say “usually” and it doesn’t say “except in cases of ___”. It says don’t do it. You responded to Dan’s question by saying god appointed government with that authority. Where does it say that?

It’s good to report on this but I wouldn’t put it past your new conservative court to bring back hanging as the solution.
According to the bible, killing is ok if the government decides it is. Where does god even fit into that.

The office of government has been anointed with authority to carry out punishment for sin. Therefore, anyone we(that would be you and I, the voters) vote for is anointed under that same umbrella of authority and they become a vessel for Him. Some for honor and some for dishonor.
You don’t find it odd that god said it was ok if punishment was carried about by a government? If god didn’t say that, it was just something written in a book by some guys.

Illinois just banned assault weapons. That’s the 9th state. I’m actually surprised it is that many considering our obsession with guns.
