Went to the rally. I was the first one there . White male with short hair with smaller Black coworker short black hair showed up in a blue pickup marked Fisheries Mussels Enforcement. White male had a Fisheries Uniform He and coworker insulted me . Coworker cringed as he did so. Told me to move as they needed that spot do their job. I moved.
A blue car showed up White male thin with black jacket and nice glasses he had CDN flag. Said he had been to a couple of these protests . We exchanged names. Said they had a good turnout at the last one more than 90. Said he lived in North Van and commuted to Surrey. Said he grew up North Manitoba. Said 13 families ruled the country and that the govt should not run the police. When I asked he said three groups should run the police the govt, a tribunal and I forget the other. He saluted and said the Hell’s Angels hated me. The Fisheries guy this time totally polite asked us to move again. White Fisheries guy then asked me to ask blue car guy to move his vehicle behind mine which seemed logical considering where he parked it by the weigh scale lane.
Cars and individuals began to arrive. White man with white hair looked at me said ,“No one likes a guy with a knife.” He talked to the two Fisheries dudes for some time they were parked to my left. CVSE vehicle appeared White hair said he called them to keep us in line. Young White Fisheries guy said something about a shot to the head. Officer Chambers approached me with a notebook open he being a White male . He asked if I was in charge. I told him no he then said he was told I was in charge. I said I did not know this group existed 3 hours ago. Said the guy in the blue car might know who the organizers were and pointed him out as he had walked across the street. Chambers left and I did not see him again.
By a little after 10 AM I counted 35 cars 90% with CDN flags some with multiple flags. 6 individuals on foot across the street. Another time outside the library a man White quite fat with Capitals gear said the Mayor did not like me. Cowitchan their season ended 2 weeks ago. Why their bus off the island and in Abbotsford? Saw the bus later on Highway 1 it passed me on the right side white driver pointed at me. He then merged ahead of me and blue car as the lane was clearly closed for construction. We had been on the rd for 3.5 hours. On my return to Surrey saw bikers going down the Rd. 2 had upside down red triangles large on the back of their jackets. Couple made freindly gestures.
Came home to Linda Vista Motel after a stop enjoyable at siblings yummy lasagna and work is good for them. Apparently the Reef Tavern is for sale for 1.3 million dollars it’s on the waterfront in Pt Roberts. Used to have a t shirt from there. One of their daughters is in Scotland for 2 weeks.
