Halla is the name of the most famous German born stud which ever made news in sport. According to her rider Hans-Günther Winkler, she was a mix between genius and insanity. With emphasize on insanity, lol. Watch the final round in the summer Olympics in Stockholm in the video. Team tournament. Winkler was fully pumped with pain killers and bandaged due to a groin fracture. Barely could stay on the horse and sometimes fell visibly behind her back and pulled in her mouth, as he nearly lost his consciousness in between due to his pain and meds. And yet, she jumped over each obstacle. No irritation. I doubt many horses would be able to do this in the same situation. She was one of a kind. Horses have interesting anatomy especially their hooves. This article does not mention horse feathers, but those are nothing like Pegasus. Modern horses evolved to have a single, weight-bearing toe enclosed in a hoof, but their ancestors had multiple toes, and vestigial remains of those side toes can still be found on their bones. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] Here’s a more detailed explanation: [4, 7] Evolution of the Single Toe: Early equids (the ancestors of horses) had multiple toes, with four on the front feet and three on the hind feet. Over millions of years, the side toes gradually reduced in size and eventually disappeared, leaving only the middle toe, which became the sole weight-bearing digit. Lol, horses are flight animals. That’s what makes them so dangerous (not only when riding). Riding is more exhausting and needs physical as well as nental strength, than non-ridwrs can imagine. Some are more nervous than orhers, though.
