I try to mask that for you with something entertaining or funny where I can find it but no matter what I post, you always reply with something negative, every time. Homeless problem is getting worse and more widespread . For the past year I have been doing volunteer work for the homeless and borderline poor. Not just helping with food and clothing distribution, but hustling keeping a shower trailer clean. I have used my personal older vehicle for transport and have cut back on my spending and even social activities to give more including diog and cat food supplies, a tent, even several pairs of my own shoes and the shirts off my back without buying a whole new wardrobe.
Today is Thanksgiving and even before I checked out the hotel I was staying at, I picked up a new friend I had made just last week to drop him off at a shelter fior a bed and thanksgiving meal. Hopefully this leads to longer stay and lifestyle change and it took us a whole week to finally get him a referral and I take. Needless to say it is not an easy task getting people to accept help.
With some small efforts you can change a whole lot when you can change the mindset.
I have been at ground zero including safe camping tents. Not the only volunteer. It’s not always pleasant and sometimes dangerous.

It’s nice that you do volunteer work, Mark. Everyone should. Especially rich people. If every billionaire was required to do 20 hours of community service a month in the poorest areas of town, we’d start seeing some changes in the world.

I’m not making a new solve the homeless issue thread just using this one and I don’t know the purpose why it was started.
I will tell you one thing why a lot of people remain addicted or alcoholic and homeless it just plain homeless living in a tent.
A lot of the program and shelters do not accept pets. The ones I volunteered at did but not all.
I found out that people would accept help more readily when they saw homeless animals getting help easily. You can do this on your own, but can get into trouble for offering vet services. Not sure about nonprescription meds.
But these for animals arrive before Christmas. They are useful in summer on hot concrete. It will be cold fiorseveral months.
