Michele, it’s true, I have an amazing life, but it’s not an ostentatious life at all.
I’ve got a bit of money but nothing that would impress anyone in these days of near-trillionaires. When I sold the data center I finally clued in that everyone I saw with huge amounts of money was unhappy. Beyond that, I saw that those with the most money always had the most money stress.
I turned my attention to trying to build the best lifestyle I could. I turned away opportunities that were high-stress and high-engagement even if they were high-return, and I focused on things I could do from home or on my laptop. This saved my health, my marriage, and my quality of life. I honestly wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s on earth.
Now I wake up when I feel like it, and do whatever I feel like most days. I have zero financial stress. But I drive a Mazda, not a Maserati, and I don’t fly private jets. I’m ok with that.

Odd choice to me. This does not please anyone. Either murder 2 or if you think it’s ok to shoot someone because you feel nervous, then no charge. Unless he shot her and didn’t mean to kill her, which is an awful defense. If I shot someone through my door, I would not expect them to live.
Sounds like they didn’t make contact with the door. So, the shooter might be lying. Surprising that such richies don’t have a ring cam. Maybe they do and that’s why the cops know there was not much effort getting in from the housekeepers.

I agree and anyone who owns a gun knows better than to pull it out unless they plan on using it and if they do, they know or at least sense it’s a kill or die situation.

If they have one and he was looking through it, that will come out. If it does turn out that he saw the intruder and the perceived threat turned out to be a false alarm and he shot her anyway, that’s murder, imo. That’s going to be difficult to prove. If he saw and watched the intruders movements and still felt threatened, he had every right to his action, which I’m sure he will defend.

I don’t think there is a ring camera. The police said there is no fingerprints from anyone from the cleaning company on the doorknob. If you are trying to break into someone’s house, you should probably turn the knob. My guess is they rang the doorbell and knocked on the door. He claims they were aggressive and trying to break in. I suppose he could have an IQ of 30 and think they were trying to break in. If someone was at my door and didn’t try to unlock the door, I wouldn’t think they were breaking in.
According to the police, they are not accepting stand your ground, since they don’t believe there was a reasonable threat. I would agree with that. Insane to think someone going to the wrong house justifies a killing. Definitely not a society I want to live in.
Still surprised it’s only manslaughter, but maybe they’ll get a conviction. Still aways away.
