This has always been the question. In general, the answer has always traditionally been “yes”. This generation is revisiting that, to the dismay of most right wingers.

Some CEO supported the Texas abortion law and everyone lost their mierda and he had to quit. I don’t consider this to be a free speech issue at all. He had every right to tweet his support of the law. Others had every right to quit working for him. The board of directors had every right to fire him.
That said, I do wish we could go back to a world where people could disagree without wanting to destroy each other. That ship has sailed, however, and this is the world we live in. He should have known better.
