Cars

Reg. Do you have a condo or apartment in Vancouver? How do you afford to live in it for 6 months? Are you airbnbing?

Having a car and condo to pay for and only using 6 months. I’d have to figure something out there.

I do own a condo in Vancouver and yes, it is a financial drain. I don’t Airbnb it. It just sits there. I am toying with renting it out, though. Funny you ask this as I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much my life costs and that condo is the most expensive part of it.

It would be one thing if it was in a cheap city. Renting it out would be a pain whenever you went back to Vancouver. I’m not sure what I would do and we are in different places and have different lives. I just don’t think I could do that. You should get a good price for it, I would imagine when you do sell it, eventually.

It’s pretty much spring here. I’m pretty excited to clean my car in my own driveway tomorrow. A first. 60F tomorrow.

It’s a big part of my retirement planning. I’ll sell it eventually and probably move full time to South America. Right now it’s a money drain.

One thing I am getting very serious about is selling the car. That’s just a costly and useless boat anchor and I can use transit and Zipcar when I’m there.

Any thoughts on hydrogen fuel cell cars?

What kind of car?

Another pricey car.

Talking about cultural marxism…

Aren’t electric cars for rich homos? My clan drives old Mercedeses now, model series W201 and W202. Inexpensive in repairs and durable. No thrills though, not even an adjustable steering wheel which is very bad for people with “ample thighs”. And it was a WHITE company and WHITE MALE HETEROSEXUAL CEOs (by then at least AFAIK). #nohomo. And for the really old ones you get a tax deduction here in Germany (H-plate). Mine doesn’t qualify however (it has to be in good shape and 30 years old; mine is in “not so good outer shape” and 20 yo).

What happened to the cool old BMW you had been showing on old bbad, Reg?

Jeez, these “cars” do look like a freaking smart phone. Cars for smart phone zombies.
When I see these overpriced things, I have one question in mind: Will you still get a fresh replacement-battery for it in 20 years from now, the key component? Or do you have to toss it into the trash in 10 years…

@3:50 Nearly all carbon-fibre/ made of composites??!?!
Have fun with the repairs when having even a minor accident. I am aware of the Audi company for example charges 2000€ for modern-day sports-car driving-light-composite component replacement by now (1000€ x 2 for left and right). This is insane. My whole car did cost less than 2000€ and Audi charges this sum for mere driving-light replacement. Hahaha insane.

My advise for the reader: Be a low-life (#nohomo)! save taxes! hurt ZOG!

Greta Thunfish comments: “Hah, You are responsible for all the climate change. Instead of drying cloth on free air, you use an electricity-guzzler! Shame on You, You are guilty according to climate religion!!”

Forget about the homo toys posted in this thread, this is what I call a sports-car!

Browsing the self driving car dialog on bbad I find this.

Number of the beast.

Now, are these cars “self-driving” or who is in command here? Certainly it is neither god nor a man in god’s image.
Do you need any further comment from my side?

Number 1. I would never buy that car.

Number 2. Many states in the USA have rules about drying clothes outside. I used one growing up. In the condo, I could not. It is quite windy here. I’d have to ask the town where to put it.

Number 3. You are all over the place whining about someone using a clothes dryer and complaining about them using a gasless car. Pretty inconsistent there.

That was a good day. They got bad news and tanked a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, Chine received good news a few days ago so they are inching their way back up again. Last I checked they were at 5.39 a share.

Electric cars outsold ICE cars in that awful socialist country Norway last month.

Hey Daniel. I think I found your dream car.

Did you notice where it’s made?

I did!

It is way better than the ones presented previously.

Still, 20k€ is 15k€ above my limit.
It reminds me of Steve Erkle’s BMW Isetta. Driving like the Erk-man hahaha. That would be cool in a nerdy sense…

I doubt however that my big bold strong thighs would fit in however if I already encounter problems fitting them into a W202 Mercedes.

What do think of this? Seats 12. Probably because nobody is driving. Seems big for the city.

It’s autonomous. That kills it for me. I’m sure you would love it tho.

Let me rephrase that. I’m guessing you love it.
