Did Trump not bitch about a few European countries still importing gas from Russia? It’s all about money and power. Not about moral and truth. The USA also is discussing about reopening the once heavily criticized North Stream Pipeline. Now Europeans are heavily dependent on US fluid gas and pay way higher prices.

Canada is in no way dependent on Russia. I have not seen a Russian product outside a liquor store in at least 6 years.
